As we journey through the season of Passiontide, we are invited to contemplate the profound significance of Jesus' suffering and love for humanity. The word "passion" itself originates from the Latin word "passio," meaning suffering. During this period, we unite our thoughts and reflections on the final days of Jesus' life, leading up to His crucifixion on Good Friday.

Jesus' extraordinary example of love and sacrifice serves as a powerful motivator for us to become more passionate about demonstrating love and compassion towards our fellow brothers and sisters, as well as our neighbors. His teachings show us that our love and devotion should not be limited to times of joy and prosperity, but should also remain strong in moments of suffering and hardship.

As we reflect on Jesus' suffering, we are reminded of the profound trust He had in God's will. Despite facing immense pain and adversity, Jesus remained steadfast in His commitment to fulfilling the Father's will. This unwavering trust in God's plan gives us confidence that, even in the midst of our own suffering, we can emerge victorious, just as Jesus did.

The Bible reminds us of the depth of God's love for humanity in John 3:16-17: "Because God so loved the world, He sent His Son, not to condemn us but to save us." Jesus' suffering and sacrifice demonstrate the extent of God's love for us, and inspire us to respond with love, kindness, and compassion towards others.

As our Chief Apostle encourages us with this year's motto, "It's time to do Good," we are reminded of the importance of putting our faith into action. So, what does it mean to "do good" in our moments of suffering and hardship?

Here are some ways in which we can respond:

1. Love all humanity: Let us strive to demonstrate the same unconditional love and acceptance that Jesus showed to all people, regardless of their background or circumstances.
2. Show love to our enemies: As Jesus taught us, let us pray for those who persecute us and seek to do us harm, rather than retaliating or seeking revenge.
3. Forgive others: Just as Jesus forgave those who crucified Him, let us seek to forgive others who have wronged us, and work towards healing and reconciliation.
4. Fulfill God's will: As Jesus did, let us commit to fulfilling God's will in our lives, even when it requires sacrifice or perseverance.

May our reflection on Passiontide inspire us to become more like Jesus, demonstrating love, compassion, and kindness to all those around us.
